MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A new report shows outside groups are spending more to support liberal state Supreme Court challenger Jill Karofsky than incumbent Justice Dan Kelly. Government watchdog group Wisconsin Democracy Campaign released an analysis Tuesday that shows four groups have spent about $684,000 to support Karofsky. Two conservative groups have spent about $40,400 in support of Kelly. A Better Wisconsin Political Fund has spent $500,000 on ads supporting Karofsky. Americans for Prosperity has spent about $23,000 on canvassing and print literature supporting Kelly.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
