Two more people have tested positive for the coronavirus in Fond du Lac County, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the county to 14. Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says at least one of the individuals had direct contact with an infected person who was on the Egyptian cruise. Mueller says a lot of Fond du Lac County residents are being tested for the virus. Mueller says the people are being tested by appointment. Mueller says it’s still clear that social distancing and banning large gatherings is working.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
