The elected positions of Fond du Lac County Clerk, Treasurer and Register of Deeds are getting pay raises. The county board has approved the salary increases effective for the 2021-2024 term of office. County executive Al Buechel says there is a two percent increase in the first year, and three percent in each of the next three years. Buechel says the county finance committee felt it was time for some catch-up in pay because the percentage of increase has been minimal for the last couple of terms.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
