Due to heavy rains last Thursday and Friday, the City of Fond du Lac diverted wastewater on 4 th Street west of Marr Street into a nearby storm sewer. The flow then discharged into a nearby river. While this wastewater is untreated, it is so heavily diluted that it does not pose a threat to public health. The bypassing occurred at this location Thursday night. As required by the City’s wastewater permit, this information has been reported to the area DNR engineer.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
