The Fond du Lac County District Attorney has confirmed that a member of the DA office staff is in self quarantine for symptoms similar to COVID-19. DA Eric Toney says the staff member is being treated for symptoms consistent with Covid-19 but was unable to be tested because of insufficient test kits. DA Eric Toney said on Monday that the doctor told him to “act as though he has Covid-19” but has not received an official diagnosis. Toney would not identify who the staff member is, but sources tell WFDL news it is an assistant district attorney. Toney says he is confident the District Attorney’s office is safe. Toney says the District Attorney’s Office will remain open and has taken steps over the past few weeks to minimize any potential disruption of essential operations, including work from home procedures and the ability to appear telephonically for court hearings. Toney says this employee was not exhibiting symptoms while at the office and as precaution he has not been in the office since Friday March 13 after developing symptoms on Saturday March 14.
