The city of Fond du Lac is changing four polling locations for the April 7 election due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Residents who vote in wards five, six, 11 and 12 will vote at the Public Library. People who live in wards 9, 10 and 13 will vote at the city county government center. The Police Department, South Main Street Fire Station, Senior Center and Aquatic Center will not be used as polling locations. Even though polling places will be open City Clerk Maggie Hefter urges voters to avoid polling places and vote absentee by mail instead, if possible. “We want everyone who is eligible and who wants to vote to be able to do so safely. Absentee voting will greatly reduce crowds at polling places on
Election Day, which will make social distancing much easier,” Hefter said.
