Commnunity spread of COVID-19 is occurring in Dodge County. That according to Public Health Officer Abby Sauer. Sauer says community spread means there are people who have tested positive who have no exposures to a known case nor did they travel to a location where there is known community spread. Sauer says there are likely more cases in the county that they are able to confirm with a lab test. “There is simply not enough testing capacity to test everyone,” Sauer said.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
