3-14-20 longtime mayville police detective dies

A longtime Mayville police detective has died.   The Mayville Police Department says detective Dennis “Tug” Hockers  died unexpectedly on March 12, in Grand Chute, Wisconsin.   The death is under investigation by the Grand Chute Police Department and the Outagamie County Medical Examiner’s Office. Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers is ordering all public schools in the state to close in hopes of slowing the spread of the new coronavirus. The governor's drastic move Friday will affect nearly a million students and their families. State regulators extended a winter moratorium on utility disconnections indefinitely and the State Department of Corrections has suspended all visiting at Corrections Institutions.  Former Gov. 3-13-20 fdl city officials taking steps to prevent coronavirus spread

The Fond du Lac city manager says city and county officials are planning for a potential coronavirus outbreak in the city.  City manager Joe Moore says one of the most important steps is making sure the city is maintaining and treating it’s drinking water supply,  wastewater,  first responders, as well as operations at the public library and senior center.  Moore says city employees have been instructed to practice  preventative health measures.

3-13-20 tickets go on sale friday for daughtry concert at fdl county fair

Tickets go on sale Friday for the headline music act at this summer’s  Fond du lac County Fair.  Tickets for the Daughtry concert go on sale at 10am Friday on the county Fair website  fonddulaccountyfair.com.    Fairboard president Katie Grinstead says feedback for the Daughtry concert has been positive since it was first announced.  Daughtry will perform on Friday July 17.
