3-11-20 lomira toddler death investigation-the latest

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the death of a Lomira toddler.  Sheriff Dale Schmidt says the three year old boy was found dead Friday evening at a residence at 725 Railroad Street in Lomira.  Schmidt says the Sheriff’s Office is conducting a joint investigation with Lomira Police, the state patrol and Wisconsin State Crime Lab.  "It's a delicate situation just because it's a small child,"  Schmidt told WFDL news.  […]

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Democratic Gov. Tony Evers is proposing a package of legislation designed to control spring flooding even though the state Assembly has adjourned until January. 3-11-20 waupun man sentenced in fatal crash

A Waupun man  convicted in connection with a fatal crash that occurred more than three years ago will spend time behind bars.   Fond du Lac judge Robert Wirtz sentenced 60 year old James Jensen to 18 months in the county jail and six years probation.   Jensen earlier  pleaded no contest  to homicide by negligient operation of a motor vehicle.  Before he was sentenced a tearful Jensen apologized to the family of the […]

3-11-20 wisconsin graduation rates

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction says nine out of 10 students in the class of 2019 completed high school within four years, continuing an upward trend. The education department reported Tuesday that she state's graduation rate has increased 1.6% over the past five years. It is 90% in 2019, up from 89.6 percent in 2018 and 88.6% in 2017.
