The latest statistical models show a glimmer of hope, forecasting fewer deaths in the U.S. from the coronavirus pandemic before August. In Wisconsin, health officials say the latest models predict the virus will peak May first. No model is perfect, but experts say the good ones give a glimpse into the future, however nebulous, and governments need that to plan. Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says there’s a huge uncertainty in these models because health officials are still trying to get a handle on how the virus acts, and how carefully people stick with social distancing and other restrictions. “It is definately a projection,” Mueller told WFDL news. “Somebody’s best guess based on epidemiology and what information we can go on from different diseases or how other coronaviruses acts and react.” One thing is certain…right now we just have to live with uncertainty.
