The Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer is rescinding her order that had closed all campgrounds in the county. Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says effective 8am Friday, April 24, campgrounds will be allowed to re-open as long as they follow certain restrictions, including limiting all campsites to members of a single household or living unit. All other private gatherings of any number of people are prohibited. Campers must also maintain social distancing of six feet at all times. The order still prohibits the use of buildings or public spaces that would encourage social gatherings, and requires an increase in the cleaning frequency of shared toilet, laundry and shower facilities.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
