4-21-20 governor evers issues re-opening plan

todayApril 21, 2020

Wisconsin governor Tony Evers says Wisconsin currently does not meet the criteria the White House established to start reopening the state.   Evers on Monday announced what he is calling the Badger Bounce Back plan which outlines criteria for Wisconsin to be able to reopen its economy in phases.   Under the plan the state is setting a goal of  85,000 tests per week, averaging 12,000 tests per day.   Evers says the state will expand contact tracing, with a goal of every resident who tests positive being interviewed within 24 hour of receiving their test results, and their contacts interviewed within 48 hours.  Evers also says the state will continue to pursue every avenue to grow Wisconsin’s supply of personal protective equipment for healthcare and public safety workers.   Evers says when the state sees a downward trajectory of influenza-like and COVID-19 symptoms and positive tests  reported within a 14 day period, the economy can begin to re-open.
