Health officials have tied nearly 150 coronavirus cases to a Green Bay meatpacking plant, while the number of people who may have contracted the virus after going to the polls on April 7 has also grown. Separately Wednesday, organizers of a rally against Wisconsin’s stay-at-home order said they will proceed with the Friday event, even though their permit to hold it on the grounds of the Capitol was denied. To date, 246 people have died from the virus and more than 4,800 have tested positive in Wisconsin. There are 67 confirmed cases in Fond du lac County and three deaths.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
