A Fond du Lac man has been cited for illegally keeping an endangered ring-tailed Lemur as a pet. Fond du Lac police were called Sunday to a residence on Ray Street for a report of the animal running up and down the street, several times a day, wearing a diaper. When an officer arrived on the scene the animal was climbing a tree. The owner was cited for violating a city ordinance and refusing to turn over the animal to a wildlife sanctuary.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
