An iconic Fond du Lac restaurateur has died from COVID-19.  David Noe died Thursday at his winter home in Florida.  He was 74.  Sources told WFDL news Noe first became ill about two and a half weeks ago.    Noe was the owner of several popular, well-established Fond du Lac restaurants including Sebastian’s, Salty’s, and Friar Tucks.  He also previously owned Gino’s restaurant.   Noe is the fourth Fond du Lac […]

4-20-20 recount requested in fdl county board race

A Fond du Lac County board supervisor is asking for a recount after losing a close race in the spring election.  Challenger Brooke Hills defeated incumbent Martin Schroeder in the District 16 race 348 to 340 votes.   The recount will be conducted on Monday.

4-18-20 fdl county campgrounds can re-open next friday

The Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer is rescinding her order that had closed all campgrounds in the county.  Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says effective 8am Friday, April 24,  campgrounds will be allowed to re-open as long as they follow certain restrictions, including limiting all campsites to members of a single household or living unit.  All other private gatherings of any number of people are prohibited.  Campers must also maintain social distancing […]

4-18-20 prison escapees recaptured

ROCKFORD, Ill. (AP) — Two prisoners who escaped from a maximum-security prison in Wisconsin have been recaptured in northern Illinois. Thirty seven-year-old James Newman and 46-year-old Thomas Deering were taken into custody Friday in Rockford, about 90 miles south of the Columbia Correctional Institution in Portage, Wisconsin, that they fled on Thursday. A North Fond du Lac man has been arrested in connection with a series of arson fires that recently occurred in the  Fond du Lac area.
