todayMay 7, 2020

The Fond du Lac Area Foundation has announced  that  Society Insurance will provide cash matches to the first $10,000 in gifts donated to the Foundation’s  Disaster Relief Fund.   The Foundation announced last month it was activating the Fund to help those in need during the coronavirus pandemic.    Foundation Executive Director Joe Braun said that the matching gift from the Society Insurance Charitable Foundation will result in $20,000 of  additional coronavirus relief for Fond du Lac County  nonprofits, in addition to the  dollars that have already been raised.   Donations made by Friday, May 15 to the   Disaster Relief Fund will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to  $10,000.  “Society Insurance has always valued the partnership we have with the Fond du Lac Area Foundation,”   said Amy Collett, Vice President of Human Resources and Administration at Society. “Our Charity  Committee has a strong focus on supporting our local community, specifically those organizations in the greatest need. We feel the Disaster Relief Fund fits that need and provides us the greatest opportunity to  impact a number of organizations in need. It also provides a way for us to partner with community members by providing the matching gift opportunity to allow their dollars to go a bit further.”  Applications for the Disaster Relief Fund will be available for Fond du Lac County nonprofit agencies after May 18.   “Society Insurance recognized the growing needs of our community during the pandemic, and swiftly responded in a big way. Their generous $10,000 match provides an enticing incentive for others to give  too,” said Foundation Executive Director Joe Braun.
Donations can be made online at https://fdlareafoundation.com/donate.html by selecting the Disaster Relief Fund in the dropdown box or by mailing a check with Disaster Relief Fund on the memo line to Fond du Lac Area Foundation, 384 N. Main Street – Suite 4, Fond du Lac, WI 54935.   This new giving incentive comes after Fond du Lac philanthropist Jo Ann Ward’s $1,000 match was successfully fulfilled.
