5-20-20 man fatally shoots self during police struggle

CALEDONIA, Wis. (AP) — State officials say a man shot and killed himself while struggling with a police officer in Caledonia. The Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation says the officer was trying to take the man into custody Monday when they scuffled. The Fond du Lac city manager says he is confident Fond du Lac residents will act smart and continue safe practices even though the Safer at Home order is no longer in effect.   City manager Joe Moore says he believes city residents understand they cannot let down their guard.  Moore says people realize the importance of social distancing, not going to work if you’re sick and proper hand hygiene.
