5-14-20 merc national walleye fishing tournament cancelled

The  Merc National Walleye Fishing tournament on Lake Winnebago has been cancelled.  Tournament organizers say the cancellation is due to the COVID-19 pandemic and conforms with the state’s Safer at Home prohibition of certain activities and public gatherings.   The event was scheduled to take place June 12-14.    Meanwhile, the Walleye Weekend Festival at Fond du Lac's Lakeside Park has been postponed until late August.

5-14-20 fire damages old eden town hall

Fire significantly damaged the old Eden Town Hall in Fond du Lac County.  Firefighters were called Wednesday afternoon to the scene on Sheridan Street in the village of Eden to a report of the building on fire.  The building was having construction work done at the time of the fire and it is believed that a piece of equipment being used for the construction caused the fire.  The building sustained significant damage.  Nobody […]

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A Republican endorsed by President Donald Trump has easily won a special congressional election in a heavily conservative rural Wisconsin district. Tom Tiffany’s win Tuesday over Democrat Tricia Zunker comes in the second election held in Wisconsin amid the coronavirus the past five weeks.
