5-9-20 favre denies auditor’s claim he was paid for no-show work

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre is disputing a Mississippi state auditor’s report that says he received $1.1 million in welfare money for multiple speaking engagements he didn't show up for. Favre said he was being paid for his role in radio public service announcements and advertisements. He says he has never not shown up for an appearance. Favre has agreed to pay back the money.

5-9-20 ripon drug bust

A series of drug overdoses has resulted in the execution of search warrants at two Ripon residences and confiscation of drugs including meth, heroin and cocaine.  Ripon police say they have responded to seven drug overdoses at the residences over the past four weeks. Police say charges are expected to be filed against several individuals. Potential charges may include possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining a drug house, manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.
