Several pet dogs died in a fire that damaged a Beaver Dam home. Shortly before 10am Thursday firefighters responded to a report of a house fire with multiple pet animals trapped inside a Gould Street residence. Five dogs and a parrot died in the blaze. The homeowner was not home when the fire broke out. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The state Department of Corrections says close to to 44 percent of inmates tested at the Waupun Correctional Institution have tested positive for coronavirus. As of Wednesday, 73 inmates at Waupun had been tested. Of those, 32 were positive and 35 were negative.
