Gov. Tony Evers today announced a grant program funded by the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. 5-22-20 wisconsin unemployment hits 14.1 percent

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin’s unemployment rate hit 14.1% in April, a level not seen since the Great Depression. The state Department of Workforce Development reported the latest figures on Thursday. The state’s rate was just below the national unemployment rate of 14.7%. 5-22-20 fire damages fdl residence

Nobody was injured a fire that heavily damaged a Fond du Lac home.  Firefighters were called to the scene at 156 Central Avenue shortly before noon Thursday.   Fire chief Pete O’Leary says the cause of the fire is not believed to be suspicious but remains under investigation.   The Red Cross is assisting the displaced family. photo: fdl fire and rescue

5-22-20 fdl police respond to another shooting

Fond du Lac police are investigating a second shooting incident in less than 24 hours.   Police responded Thursday morning to reports of gunshots fired on Bank Street between Main St and  Marquette Ave.   Police captain Jason Laridaen says the  individuals involved  in the incident fled the scene before  officers arrived.  Laridaen tells WFDL news at this point it does not appear that  anyone was injured.  Meanwhile, police continue to investigate […]

5-21-20 fdl man receives non life-threatening injuries in shooting incident
