Fire damaged an abandoned warehouse building in Fond du Lac this morning. Fire Chief Pete O’Leary says nobody was injured in the blaze at the Old Casket Company building on Brooke Street between Western Avenue and Division Street. O’Leary says a MABAS Box Alarm was sounded after the initial call came in shortly before 3am Tuesday. The fire was brought under control in a couple of hours.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
