Fond du Lac School superintendent Dr. Jim Sebert has been hired to the same position in the Waukesha School District. President of the Waukesha School Board Joseph Como says pending formal board approval, Dr. Sebert has been hired out of a field of 25 applicants. Sebert was one of three finalists interviewed by the board last week. Como says Dr. Sebert’s experience and attributes were the best fit for taking the Waukesha School District to the next level. Como says Sebert’s top attributes include being politically astute, student focused, open minded, collaborative, involved in the community and embracing diversity. Sebert has been the Fond du Lac superintendent for 11 years.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
