6-22-20 fdl area foundation pandemic relief grants

A  UW Oshkosh statewide economic survey shows Wisconsin businesses continue to demonstrate resilience during the pandemic.  Forty one percent of respondents to the survey indicate they have introduced or expanded online services over the last three months.   Sixty percent of respondents say they have requested financial assistance and 52 percent have received aid.  Only ten percent of respondents estimate being able to stay in business for less than three months …an increase in business survivability from […]

JEFFERSON, Wis. (AP) — Authorities have released the name of two people killed in a double homicide and arson in southeastern Wisconsin. A 37 year old  Fond du Lac man drowned in the Fond du Lac River.   Rescue personnel were called Thursday evening for a report of a man in the water in distress.    Witnesses say the man was fishing near the  Johnson Street bridge when he jumped in the river to swim across and  then went under the water.   The man was recovered in the river just south of the […]

6-19-20 fdl residential fire

One person was transported to the hospital for evaluation following a fire that damaged a Fond du Lac home.  Thursday afternoon firefighters were called to a residence at 30 Sunset Circle to find smoke coming from the roof of the house.  The fire was brought under control in about an hour. photo: fdl fire/rescue
