6-17-20 fdl’s walleye weekend cancelled

Fond du Lac’s Walleye Weekend has officially been cancelled.  After initially postponing the event until late August,  festival organizers announced Wednesday the decision was made to cancel the event due to the COVID-19 pandemic.   However, the board says a family event is being planned for Lakeside Park in August that will take into consideration concerns raised by local  health officials.  Organizers say details on that event will be released soon.

6-17-20 beaver dam man critically injured in motorcycle vs. deer crash

A Beaver Dam man was critically injured when his motorcycle  collided with a deer in Dodge County.  The crash happened at 11:15pm Tuesday  on STH 73 north of CTH G in the Town of Westford.  He  was not wearing a helmet.  The 41 year old motorcycle operator  was  flown by Med Flight to UW-Madison Hospital.   Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.

6-17-20 two people injured in two-vehicle crash in fdl county

Two people were transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries following a two vehicle crash in Fond du Lac County.  The crash happened shortly before 6:30pm Tuesday on Highway 151 at Deadwood Point Road when a northbound vehicle driven by a 75 year old New Holstein man was attempting to pass a motorcycle and collided with a pick-up truck turning west onto Deadwood Point Road. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The state Department of Natural Resources board is poised to vote on whether to allow the agency to begin drafting regulations implementing new restrictions on firefighting foam containing chemicals known as PFAS. 6-17-20 more young people contracting covid-19 in fdl county

The Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer says she is concerned that more young people are contracting COVID-19. Public Health Officer   Kim Mueller says the majority of  positive COVID-19 cases in the past week have been in the 20 to 29 age group.  "The majority of people we have been seeing over the past week are within the age range of  20 to 29,"  Mueller told WFDL news.    […]

6-17-20 republican lawmakers ok settlements under lame-duck laws

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin Legislature's Republican-controlled budget committee has approved four more legal settlements under the state's lame-duck laws. It passed statutes in December 2018 that require Democratic Attorney General Josh Kaul to get permission from the Joint Finance Committee before settling lawsuits. 6-17-20 fdl dock spiders announce schedule

The Northwoods League has announced the schedule for the first two weeks of the Wisconsin-Illinois Pod, and the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders are scheduled to open at home on Wednesday, July 1st at 6:35PM against the Wisconsin Woodchucks.  The Dock Spiders will have seven other home dates scheduled over the two-week stretch from July 1st through July 14th.  The schedule for the first two weeks of the season can be found here.  […]
