7-18-20 body found on fdl sidewalk-no foul play suspected

Fond du Lac police do not suspect foul play  in the death of a Fond du Lac man who was found on a sidewalk Thursday morning.   Shortly after 5am Thursday police and rescue personnel were called to the area of South National Ave just north of the National Avenue Fire  Station  for a report of a male subject found lying unresponsive  on the sidewalk.  Officers arriving on the scene determined the subject was deceased.  […]

7-17-20 fire destroys garage in fdl

Nobody was injured in a fire that destroyed a garage in Fond du Lac.  Shortly after 4:30am a police officer on routine patrol noticed a plume of smoke and found the fire at 253 Linden Street and called dispatch. 7-17-20 wisconsin prison workers fired, suspended after escape

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The warden of a maximum-security prison has resigned and 11 other workers have resigned, been suspended or fired in connection with an April escape. 7-17-20 wisconsin unemployment rate plummets to single digits

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin’s unemployment rate dropped to 8.5% in June. That good news came Thursday as Democratic lawmakers released proposals to remove obstacles and broaden access to unemployment benefits and Gov. Tony Evers’ administration temporarily reassigned 100 state workers to help address a backlog in claims. The Department of Workforce Development has struggled to process the claims of everyone seeking unemployment. Currently about 141,000 people were awaiting payments. […]
