7-28-20 fdl high speed chase

A Milwaukee man was arrested following a high speed chase that started on Interstate 41  and ended in the city of Fond du Lac.  It started at about 10:30pm Monday when a deputy attempted to stop a speeding vehicle on 41 near Highway 151.  The chase continued on 151 and the vehicle exited on Highway 23 where the deputy conducted a pursuit intervention technique.   The suspect vehicle began traveling westbound in the […]

7-28-20 fdl apartment fire

Nobody was injured in a fire that destroyed an apartment unit in Fond du Lac.  Shortly after 5am firefighters were called to 130 Forest Avenue to find smoke billowing out of the window.  Fire Chief Pete O’Leary says the fire was quickly extinguished, but not before it destroyed the unit.  O’Leary says the cause of the fire is under investigation and considered suspicious. photo:fdl fire/rescue

7-28-20 fdl, nfdl schools following health experts recommendations in reopening schools

7-28-20 uw system receives anonymous gift to bolster online learning

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The University of Wisconsin System has received a $2 million gift from an anonymous donor to beef up online learning this semester. UW System Interim President Tommy Thompson announced the gift on Monday. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A new report shows Republican legislators' fundraising committees raised nearly twice as much money as their Democratic counterparts during the first half of the year.  Government watchdog group Wisconsin Democracy Campaign released the analysis Monday. 7-28-20 menomonee valley cleanup project complete

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin environmental officials say the city of Milwaukee has finished a 30-year project to clean up and restore a 110-acre brownfield near Miller Park. The Department of Natural Resources announced Monday that the agency issued a case closure letter to the city on May 1. 7-28-20 carbon monoxide leak sends 8 workers at fdl company to hospital

Eight workers at a Fond du Lac company were transported to the hospital for treatment of carbon monoxide poisoning.  Shortly after 2:30pm Monday Fond du Lac paramedics were called to Quality Packaging at 851 Sullivan Road for a report of a possible carbon monoxide leak with warehouse workers feeling ill.   Upon arrival fire crews began to treat several workers who complained of symptoms indicative of carbon monoxide poisoning.  Alliant Energy was also on scene and […]
