7-23-20 wisconsin opioid overdoses more than double during pandemic

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin health officials say there have been more than twice as many suspected opioid overdoses during the coronavirus pandemic than there were during the same period last year. 7-23-20 area unemployment rates drop in june

The local unemployment rate saw a significant decline in June.   The Dodge County jobless rate plummeted from 9.7 to 7.3 percent last month.   In Fond du lac County the unemployment rate fell three percent to 8.3 percent.  The city of Fond du Lac’s  unemployment rate dropped from 13 percent in May to 9.7 percent in June.

7-23-20 fdl county adult store robbery

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery at an adult toy store.   Sheriff’s lieutenant of detectives Chris Randall says the Xcite Adult store on Highway N, just off Interstate 41 was robbed shortly before 6:30pm Sunday.  Randall says the store clerk says a white male entered the store, displayed a knife and demanded money.  The clerk was not injured in the incident.  The suspect is described as a […]

7-22-20 fdl forest mall demolition underway

After very little movement for over a year, work has restarted at the Fond du Lac Forest Mall.   Fond du Lac Community Development director Dyann Benson says demolition of the former JCPenney and Sears Department store buildings started last Friday.  Benson says in the end the mall will be replaced with a Meijer SuperCenter and gas station convenience store.   The says the estimated construction timeline is 18 months to two years.  Kohls […]
