8-21-20 beaver dam meals on wheels seeking volunteers

todayAugust 20, 2020

The Beaver Dam Meals on Wheels (MOW) program is seeking volunteers to help keep the important program thriving now and into the future.   Meals on Wheels is a community program that delivers within the city limits of Beaver Dam, and each year,  12,000 meals are served by 140 volunteers. All meals are prepared by the Marshfield Medical Center–Beaver
Dam Café and are made for noon dinners, which volunteers pick up and then deliver.   MOW is a service designed to provide nutritious, well-balanced meals at a minimal cost for recently discharged patients, the handicapped and the homebound elderly. The program began Feb. 19, 1973 with 10
customers, and today it has 88 customers who receive meals Monday through Friday. Volunteers donate their time and vehicles to deliver these meals.   Volunteer commitment is one time per month and approximately one hour per shift with volunteer training  available. To help the many citizens who benefit from this amazing program, please call Kathy Dries at 920-885-3948 or Gail Hope Henschel at 920-887-1215.
