8-26-20 fdl city councilmember hired as new executive director of fdl county historical society

The Fond du Lac County Historical Society has hired  a  Fond  du Lac city councilmember  as  it’s next executive director.   At a special meeting  last week the commission voted to hire  Ben Giles to the post.  Board president Teresa Keenan says the board feels Giles is a  “dynamic, community-focused, relationship-oriented individual who can help the organization achieve it’s goal of ushering the Historical Society into a new era.”     The Society runs the Historic Galloway House and Village, which has been closed since earlier this spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Keenan says the hope is that the village can reopen sometime next year.
