8-14-20 covid-19 cases in fdl county continue to climb

The number of COVID-19  cases in Fond du Lac County continues to climb.  Twenty new cases were reported Thursday, after 30 cases were reported Wednesday, bringing to 735 the total number of cases in the county.  Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says there are 187 active cases, and nine people are currently hospitalized.  Mueller told WFDL news many of the new cases stem from three different golf outings and three large weddings, […]

The Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer says she is not surprised at a recent study that found people were more likely to contract the new coronavirus from members of their own households than from contacts outside the home.  A study, by South Korean epidemiologists, published in the CDC showed just two out of 100 infected people had caught the virus from non-household contacts, while one in 10 had contracted […]

8-14-20 marian university and mptc receive u.s. department of education grants

Marian University and Moraine Park Technical College have both received grants from the U.S. Department of Education.  The $1.3 million dollar grants will be used at Moraine Park to help low-income, first generation students and or students who have a learning disability meet their goals and graduate from college.   The Marian program is designed to increase the retention and graduation rates of 140 students annually.
