9-2-20 fdl equalized values

The Fond du Lac city manager says new equalized values released by the state Department of Revenue show good news for Fond du Lac taxpayers.   The figures show that for the first time in it’s history, the value of all real  estate in the city of Fond du Lac is in excess of $3 billion.  City manager Joe Moore says that’s an increase of five percent over the previous year and nearly 21 percent over the past five years.  Moore says that’s an increase of over $141 million since last year and almost half a billion dollars in five years.  The city’s net new construction in 2020 increased by over $49 million in the past year. That’s a factor that drives the city’s allowable tax levy.
