The state AAA says the majority of travelers this Labor Day holiday will take a road trip. State AAA spokesman Nick Jarmusz says as people look to Labor Day and the upcoming autumn and holiday seasons, many are still questioning how the pandemic will affect their trip. Jarmusz says while overall travel was down, Wisconsin residents still took road trips this summer. Jarmusz says gas prices for the Labor Day holiday are the lowest in four years. The national average price for gasoline is $2.23 a gallon.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
