A consultant hired to conduct a market feasibility study for an alternate Fond du Lac Lakeside Park master plan is nearing the halfway point of the study. The Fond du Lac city council met with representatives of Johnson consulting at a Committee of the whole meeting Wednesday evening. The consultant is reviewing the plan that calls for a restaurant on the lighthouse peninsula and amphitheater on Oven Island. City manager Joe Moore says a lot of what Johnson Consulting will base their recommendations on are market demand and economics of the region. “Their job is to look at it from a business perspective to see if it makes sense,” Moore told WFDL news. Fond du Lac city council president Brian Kolstad says regardless of whether the study says a restaurant and amphitheater are economically feasible the council must ultimately decide if the alternate plan is appropriate. Kolstad he hopes the study also addresses the proposed locations of the structures on the lighthouse peninsula and Oven Island.
