One person was killed and one person received life-threatening injuries in a crash Tuesday morning involving a car and an ambulance. The State Patrol says a passenger in the car, a 21 year old Fond du Lac man, was killed in the crash. The driver, a 28 year old Theresa man, received life-threatening injuries. The patient being transported to the hospital and two firefighter/paramedics in the ambulance received minor injuries. Fond du Lac Fire Chief Pete O’Leary says the crash happened at 4:15am at the intersection of North Main and Johnson Streets. O’Leary says an ambulance was transporting a patient to the hospital from another call in a non-emergency fashion, entered the intersection, when it was struck by a northbound vehicle. The state Patrol says the car apparently ran a red light. The state Patrol says all lanes were blocked in both directions for more than five hours.
