9-9-20 apples ready

The trees are heavy with ripening apples.   Executive director of the Wisconsin Apple Growers Association Anna Maenner says there are about 300 different apple varieties in Wisconsin.  Maenner says the Association is currently promoting heritage apples,  that you may only find at an orchard.  Maenner says many orchards have apples for sale now.

9-9-20 brewers release smoak

DETROIT (AP) — The Milwaukee Brewers have released first baseman Justin Smoak, who had been designated for assignment last week. Smoak hit .186 with five home runs and 15 RBIs in 33 games for the Brewers. Milwaukee claimed first baseman Daniel Vogelbach off waivers last week. MILWAUKEE (AP) — The chancellor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is ordering undergraduate students to limit their movements for the next two weeks in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19. 9-8-20 fatal motorcycle crash in fdl county

A 60 year old Pewaukee man was killed in a motorcycle crash in Fond du Lac County.  It happened shortly after 6pm Monday on County Highway W at Midland Drive.   An initial investigation shows the southbound motorcycle failed to negotiate a curve, entered a ditch, ejecting the operator.  He was not wearing a helmet.  He was pronounced dead at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.

9-7-20 jacob blake speaks publically for first time since shooting

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Jacob Blake has spoken publicly for the first time since a Kenosha, Wisconsin, police officer shot him seven times in the back.
