10-20-20 misprint could delay outagamie county absentee ballot count

APPLETON, Wis. (AP) — Officials in a northeastern Wisconsin county say a technical ballot misprint is most likely to delay the counting of some absentee ballots on Election Day. 10-20-20 in person absentee voting starts tuesday

The Fond du Lac County Clerk says at this point there does not appear to be any shortage of poll workers in Fond du Lac County for the  November election.   The Wisconsin Elections Commission last week reported there are shortages in 51 municipalities.  Fond du Lac County Clerk Lisa Freiberg says there are no shortages being reported by any area municipalities.  Freiberg says a few clerks said they were not quite sure […]

10-20-20 nfdl school district annual meeting

A proposed North Fond du Lac School District budget includes a slight decrease in the tax rate.   The school board held the district’s annual meeting and budget hearing Monday night.  Superintendent Aaron Sadoff says the district has a $650,000 deficit due primarily to extra costs associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.  But Sadoff says because the district is receiving more state aid, the tax levy is actually going down slightly.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — More people are flocking to Wisconsin state parks amid the coronavirus pandemic. Officials report a 12% increase in both visitation and camping. 10-20-20 fdl city council president says he supports referendum on alternative lakeside park master plan

The Fond  du Lac city council president says he believes an alternative Lakeside Park master plan should be put to a public referendum.  Brian Kolstad says since the alternative plan was introduced, the city council has basically gone unchecked.   The controversial plan includes a restaurant on the lighthouse peninsula and amphitheater on Oven Island.  Kolstad says the original master plan survived six years of elections, which he says gave it validity that the public […]

10-20-20 fdl police investigate shooting incident

Fond du Lac police are investigating a reported shooting incident over the weekend.  Shortly after 9:30pm Saturday Police were called to a report of a gunshot fired at an apartment at 15 South Military Road near Division Street.  According to the police log callers reported hearing a single shot and then saw two people running.   A bullet hole was found in a south side window.    No injuries were reported.
