10-17-20 campbellsport man convicted of attempted homicide going to prison

A Campbellsport man convicted of trying to kill his fiancée with a pocket knife is going to prison.   Fond du Lac judge Peter Grimm sentenced James Allen to 22 years in prison followed by 20 years extended supervision.   Allen was convicted in August of attempted first degree intentional homicide-domestic abuse.    According to a criminal complaint Allen stabbed  his  fiancée, Michele Fleischman, in the neck with a pocket knife while she was driving at highway […]

10-16-20 wisconsin sets records for virus cases, hospitalizations

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin has hit a new daily high for positive coronavirus cases and hospitalizations, a surge that the state’s chief health officer is calling a crisis. There were 3,747 new cases reported Thursday, breaking the record of 3,279 set on Tuesday. To date, the state has had more than 162,000 positive cases and 1,553 deaths since the pandemic started. 10-16-20 fdl county health department covid database site will be down this weekend for maintenance upgrade

The Fond  du Lac County Health Department’s COVID-19 database won’t be updated this weekend as the computer system gets an upgrade.   Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says during the maintenance the health department will not be getting any positive or negative test results into the system.  Mueller says health departments across the state use what’s called the Wisconsin Electronic Disease Surveillance System.  The system will go down for maintenance Friday afternoon, […]
