10-14-20 fdl county health department announces drive-thru covid testing at fairgrounds

The Fond du Lac County Health Department is opening up a free COVID-19  drive-thru community testing site at the Fond du Lac County Fairgrounds starting this month.   Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says the testing site will be open Thursdays from 11am to 7pm starting October 22, through December 10.  Mueller says the National Guard will be conducting the tests.   People should remain in their vehicles throughout the process.  Masks […]

10-14-20 wisconsin hits new daily records for virus cases, deaths

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin has hit grim coronavirus milestones, with record highs for positive cases, deaths and hospitalizations. The state Department of Health Services reported 3,279 new cases Tuesday, breaking a five-day-old record. It reported 34 deaths, also a new high, bringing the state's death toll to 1,508. 10-14-20 virus outbreak-wi prisons

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin Department of Corrections says there’s been another coronavirus outbreak in a state prison. The DOC says the Racine Correctional Institution/Sturtevant Transitional Facility had 124 active COVID-19 cases among prisoners as of Tuesday. Two other prisons, Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution and Oshkosh Correctional Institution, are still in the midst of two large outbreaks. 10-14-20 two more fdl county residents die from covid-19

Two more Fond du Lac County residents have died from COVID-19.  Richard Thorp died October 2 and Richard Robinson died Monday.   Thorp was 67 years old, Robinson was 73.   There are now 17 COVID-19  deaths in Fond du Lac County.  There were 54 new positive cases today for a total of 3,108 cases since the pandemic began.  There are 883 active cases in Fond du Lac County and 12 people are hospitalized.

10-14-20 heidel house in green lake reopening

Groundbreaking ceremonies were held Tuesday for the historic Heidel House in Green Lake under new ownership.   The new owners and City officials say the revitalized property will reopen in May of next year,   two years after closing it’s doors.   Green Lake Hotel Group LLC and Lighthouse Development Group closed the sale of the Heidel House on Sept. 30.
