MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A medical examiner has confirmed at least two inmates of a Wisconsin prison have died after contracting the coronavirus. The Dodge County Medical Examiner’s Office says two prisoners at the Dodge Correctional Institution died in September. The state Department of Corrections does not report the deaths because of privacy laws. The medical examiner says a 63-year-old man with preexisting health conditions died Sept. 12 from COVID-19. 10-9-20 new marquette law school poll shows biden maintains lead in wisconsin

The latest Marquette Law School poll shows former vice president Joe Biden maintains his lead over president Donald Trump with less than a month to go before the election.  The new poll shows Biden with 46 percent to 41 percent for Trump among likely voters.  Poll director Charles Franklin the difference is just outside the poll’s margin of error.  The poll shows that nine percent are still undecided.   That compares to 18 […]

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A federal appeals court has blocked a decision to extend by six days the deadline for counting absentee ballots in Wisconsin. Democrats will almost certainly appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court. 10-8-20 markesan superintendent dies from covid-19

Markesan School District superintendent Duane Bark has died from COVID-19.  Bark’s son Brad posted news of his father’s death on Facebook Wednesday night.  Bark had been hospitalized since July.  Elementary School principal Jason Breaker is serving as interim superintendent.

10-8-20 fire damages fdl garage

Nobody was injured in a fire that damaged a garage in Fond  du Lac.  Shortly after 7:30pm Wednesday Fond du Lac firefighters were called to 773 Forest Avenue where they encountered smoke and flames coming from a two car detached garage.  The fire was quickly extinguished but not before it caused a significant amount of damage to the garage and it’s contents.  The cause of the fire is under investigation but does not appear to be […]

10-8-20 fire destroys pole shed in fdl county

Nobody was injured in a fire that destroyed a pole shed on a Fond du Lac County farm.   Shorty after 7:30pm Wednesday firefighters from eight departments were called to the Donald and Linda Schultz farm on Marshview Road in the town of Alto.   The shed and it’s contents were destroyed.   The cause of the fire is not considered suspicious but remains under investigation.
