MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin environmental regulators have approved an emergency rule restricting the use of firefighting foam in an effort to control pollution from PFAS chemicals. The Department of Natural Resources' policy board approved the rules on a 5-2 vote Wednesday. Construction is underway on the renovation of the Fond du Lac Lakeside Park pavilion and already some structural problems with the building have been discovered.  Public Works director Jordan Skiff told WFDL news demolition work in the kitchen area found that some of the studs were rotten and will need to be replaced, as well as problems under the floor tile.   Skiff says it's uncertain how much the problems will add to the […]

Advocate Aurora Health has announced plans to build a new hospital in Fond du Lac.  Aurora has announced it plans to expand the existing health center in Fond du Lac to include a 91,000 square foot hospital.  The expansion will include an emergency department and 10 inpatient beds with capacity for future growth.   The new medical center in Fond du Lac will be part of Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh,  designed to […]

10-29-20 wisconsin cancels nebraska game, chryst tests positive for coronavirus

Wisconsin has canceled its scheduled game at Nebraska on Saturday and paused all team activities for at least seven days after a dozen people within the program including coach Paul Chryst had tested positive for COVID-19. School officials said athletic director Barry Alvarez and chancellor Rebecca Blank made the decision in consultation with Big Ten officials. The game with Nebraska won’t be rescheduled.
