11-3-20 election security

todayNovember 3, 2020

The Wisconsin attorney general is warning people not to interfere with voters casting ballots at the polls on election day.    A new report from Armed Conflict location and Data Project and MilitiaWatch listed Wisconsin among five states at a “high risk” of facing election-related armed violence from militia groups.  The report claimed that militia activity would likely be in capital cities, peripheral towns, medium-population cities and suburban areas and centralized zones.  Wisconsin attorney general  Josh Kaul told WFDL news the Department of Justice is working to make sure there is no violence or voter intimidation at the polls.  Meanwhile, Kaul says while there is a possibility that there could be some effort to disrupt the process, the Wisconsin election system’s infrastructure has been tested repeatedly and says he’s confident the system’s infrastructure is safe.   Kaul also says he’s confident the state is prepared for any outside interference from foreign countries.  Responding to concerns that the Trump campaign is discussing contingency  plans to bypass election results and appoint loyal electors in battleground states where Republicans hold the legislative majority with a justification of rampant voter fraud.  Kaul says that  “would be unlawful and an outrageous attack our democracy.”
