Beginning Friday the Fond du Lac School District is going to all online instruction to be re-evaluated at the end of the month. A letter sent to parents says although there has not been a spread of COVID-19 in schools, there has been a significant increase in staff and student absences due to quarantines and positive cases and there aren’t enough staff or substitutes to keep schools open much longer. As a result the District’s Remote Learning model will begin Friday. The District says it will continue to monitor the numbers and hope to return to a blended model on Monday November 30, depending on the status of COVID-19.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
