The interim Fond du Lac School district superintendent says she is hopeful the district will be able to return to a blended model after the Thanksgiving holiday. Interim superintendent Sharon Simon says starting last Friday the district went to all online instruction because of a shortage of staff and substitute teachers due to quarantines and positive COVID-19 cases. “As we go forward we’re seeing more staff that are being islolated and quarantined,” Simon told WFDL news. “If I can put a little plug in anybody with a four year degree or an associates degree that is interested in subbing they could contact the district. That would help us out greatly.” Simon says when the district returns to a blended model, the district will be hiring people with high school diplomas to help monitor classrooms where the teacher is online. Meanwhile, winter sports including basketball, wrestling, boys swimming and hockey will be starting November 16.
