Fond du Lac County has experienced the largest one day death toll since the start of the pandemic. The Fond du Lac County Health Department reported six deaths Monday bringing to 42 the total number of deaths in the county. Two males, ages 85 and 75, and four females, ages 71, 80, 86 and 75 died from COVID-19 in Fond du Lac County. There were 176 new cases Monday bringing to 7,963 the total number of COVID-19 cases in the county.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
