11-17-20 fdl developer proposes redeveloping vacant buildings into apartments

A Fond du lac developer is proposing to convert two vacant buildings into apartments.    The Fond du Lac Board of Appeals recently approved a zoning use variance request to allow Commonwealth Companies to convert the former Northern Casket Company building on Brooke Street and a former cheese manufacturing plant on West Division Street into 62 residential, loft-style apartments.

11-17-20 trump recount in wisconsin would cost $7.9 million

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — President Donald Trump will have to pay $7.9 million if he wants a statewide recount of unofficial results showing him losing to Democratic Joe Biden by about 20,500 votes. The city of Fond du Lac is considering a tax incremental finance district to help with the Forest Mall redevelopment project.  The city council met in closed session last week to discuss a potential agreement.   The owner is converting the center portion of the mall into a Meijer supercenter, with demolition of other portions of the mall.  Demolition of the former J.C.
