Fond du Lac’s Marian University held a pair of commencement ceremonies Saturday in response to the cancelation of its traditional May and December commencement ceremonies due to the coronavirus pandemic. The commencement ceremonies are for the May, August and December graduates who preferred to be recognized for their accomplishments now in favor of the May 2021 in-person ceremony. This includes 114 students – 70 undergraduate, 15 adult, 25 master’s and 4 doctoral.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
