12-11-20 wi fighter pilot died in michigan crash

STEUBEN, Mich. (AP) — Military officials say a Wisconsin-based fighter pilot died when a plane crashed in a national forest in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula during a training mission. Wisconsin Air National Guard’s 115th Fighter Wing announced the pilot's death Thursday. The pilot’s identity will not be released until 24 hours after family members are notified. Three more COVID-19 deaths have been reported in Fond du Lac County.  There are now 57 deaths due to COVID-19 in the county.   There were 73 new confirmed cases Thursday bringing to 9,351 the total number of cases in the county.

12-10-20 fdl council approves placing public safety referendum on april ballot

Fond du Lac voters will decide next April whether to approve a referendum to beef up the police and fire departments.  The Fond du Lac city council has approved a resolution to place a referendum on the April ballot to add six full time firefighter/paramedics and six full time police officers.  Councilmembers Dan Degner and Donna Richards voted against.   The refendum would increase the tax levy by roughly $1.3 million annually.  Police […]
