Republican congressman Glenn Grothman says he is pleased that infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci is recommending people take vitamin D supplements to lessen your susceptibility to infection, including the possibility of the coronavirus. Grothman says studies from Northwestern University and Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland, have shown that vitamin D deficiency may play a role in increasing the severity of symptoms and overall mortality rate in COVID-19 patients.
Republican U.S. Senator Ron Johnson says he could support a bipartisan coronavirus economic stimulus package if it has certain spending controls. Optimism was growing for a COVID relief bill after additional rank and file lawmakers voiced support for a bipartisan, middle of the road plan taking shape in the senate.
