12-4-20 prison sentence handed down in fdl county heroin overdose death

One of three individuals convicted in the heroin overdose death of a Fond du Lac man is going to prison.  Fond du Lac judge Gary Sharpe sentenced Julie Harr to six years in prison and six years extended supervision on charges of  reckless homicide and  manufacture/delivery of cocaine.  Harr was one of three people convicted in the 2018 overdose death of  Steven Compton.  Cara Zech and Anthony Buechel are scheduled to be sentenced this […]

Oakfield School superintendent Vance Dalzin is stepping down.  Dalzin told the school board in his resignation letter he will be leaving  at the end of the school year after 34 years in public education.   The 57 year old Dalzin has been Oakfield superintendent since 2016.

Six more COVID-19 deaths have been reported in Fond du Lac County.  That brings to 52 the total number of deaths related to COVID-19 in the county since the start of the pandemic.
